2016 – Current Nevada Commercial Services, Inc. – Senior Vice President of Residential Property Management
• Vanessa oversees the Residential Portfolio for NCS. Vanessa works closely with the Residential Property Managers, support staff and the maintenance department to oversee the 2,600 units in the portfolio.
• Vanessa is responsible for financial performance of the portfolio as well as the portfolio expansion.

2014 – 2016 Kromer Investments Inc. / KI Management Services – Director of Operations
• Vanessa worked closely with the Regional Manager overseeing the operations of the company large multi-family portfolio of over 3,000 units. She was responsible for the property operations of the fee management division the company had. She worked with the Property Manager’s implementing the company’s best practices and procedures, recruiting of leasing and assistant managers and training of various company employees.

2007- 2014 Kromer Investments Inc. – Property Manager
• Vanessa was responsible for the day to day property operations including operational and capital budget, capital improvement projects, resident retention and property turnover. During her career, she was promoted from various properties within the company’s portfolio overseeing anywhere from 152 to 328 units. She also oversaw the company’s self-storage facility for 4 years which included 225 units.

• Vanessa currently holds a Nevada Real Estate License with a Property Management Permit.
• She is also a Certified Property Manager (CPM®) with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®).
• She is also an Accredited Residential Manager (ARM®) with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®).

As an active and respected member of the local professional community, Vanessa served as the president of IREM Chapter 89 during 2017-2018 and has been honored as CPM® of the Year in 2015 and ARM® of the Year in both 2012 and 2014, reflecting her commitment and excellence in her field.

Vanessa Wood, a proud Texas native, brings her unique blend of southern charm and professional expertise to her role at Nevada Commercial Services (NCS). Born and raised in Waco, Texas, Vanessa’s roots are deeply embedded in the Texan culture, something she fondly carries with her, including her unmistakable Texas twang. Despite her deep love for Texas, Vanessa relocated to Nevada in 2003 with her husband, Nick, and has since embraced her new home.

A mother to two first-generation Nevadan daughters, Brooklyn and London, Vanessa’s family is her world. They share their home with Baylor Bear Wood, an Australian Labradoodle named after Baylor University, a nod to Vanessa’s hometown and alma mater. When not at work, Vanessa is a constant presence on the sidelines, supporting her daughters in various sports from soccer and volleyball to golf and track. Leisure time is often spent on the beaches of Mexico or enjoying family trips to Disney.

Vanessa’s career in property management began in 2007, and she joined Nevada Commercial Services in December of 2016. Her journey in this field is marked by her passion for the challenges each new day brings, offering endless opportunities for growth and learning. At NCS, Vanessa values the supportive team and the nurturing work culture that promotes personal and professional development.
